Animal Welfare Legislation press conference
On 4 March, at the Radisson hotel, Animals Lebanon held a press conference to explain the importance of having national legislation for animal welfare – and the important work being done to make sure these laws are drafted and enacted.
No less than eight television stations covered the press conference, and the room was packed full of other journalists, NGO representatives, and friends and supporters of Animals Lebanon.

Spay day initiatives 2010
After introducing TNR – Trap Neuter Return – to Lebanon in 2008, we thought it was going to be something very difficult to get people to understand and accept.
But after two years, 50,000 flyers and other forms of awareness, people have not only accepted it but have joined efforts.

Ban the use of animals in circuses
Early Christmas morning we were alerted to a shipment of lions and tigers that were on their way to Lebanon as part of a circus.
Coming overland from Egypt, they had been without food for days as they crossed into Jordan, finally reaching Lebanon two days later. The Princess Alia Foundation worked to ensure the animals were given food and treated humanely while they were driven across Jordan.

CIRCUS UPDATE – Minister says NO to circus abuse
The Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Hussein Hajj Hassan, made a decision to deport all the circus animals.
Monte Carlo circus came to Lebanon from Egypt, and the animals are used in acrobatics performances since late last month, near the compound of Michel Murr Stadium.
