Dubai: The UAE animal welfare officials returned two lion cubs to the same Egyptian owner they charged with animal mistreatment.

We need your help now to get a family of seven baboons out of a substandard zoo and into a sanctuary. After the very successful rescue of the chimpanzee Omega, we are continuing to identify homes for the last remaining animals until this zoo is empty.

Sunday morning over 30,000 people turned out for the Beirut marathon.  Animals Lebanon was a partner charity in 2009, and was again chosen in 2010 as one of the nine partner charities.

It has been almost four weeks since Animals Lebanon was contacted by the Municipality of Beirut regarding the case of an old lady hoarding a large amount of cats.

I passed this road hundreds of times and never noticed it. It was by chance I glimpsed the faded signboard for the ?animal park? and decided to check it out.

I could smell it as soon as I entered the apartment building.  As I walked up to the fourth floor the smell got stronger and stronger.

We woke up Christmas morning with an email alerting us to a shipment of lions and tigers that was on the Egyptian/Jordanian border and it was headed to Lebanon.
