One kitten's cries that moved Beirut.

One kitten’s cries that moved Beirut.

For 3 long days, a tiny 2-month-old kitten was trapped deep inside a service shaft in the middle of the road. We don’t know how she fell in, but we received countless reports from kind people who heard her cries and refused to ignore them.

Inside that 10 to 12 meter shaft, CO₂ had replaced the oxygen — every minute trapped was a fight to breathe.

Our team rushed to the scene, and what happened next was a true community effort. It took many hands, patience, and determination to open the shaft and reach her.

This heavy structure required a crane to be lifted. Check the video for the full story.

Thanks for the hardworking team at the Beirut Municipality for getting all the approvals to ensure the hatch is opened to reach the cat.

Because the drop was at least 10 METERS deep, Auto Khaled —as always—showed up without hesitation to support our rescuers.

Kamal was dropped down the shaft with the help of the crane and pulley. He spent hours trying to gain her trust and gently lure her toward safety.

And finally… success!

Little Lilies was rescued and brought into our arms.

Despite everything she endured, Lilies is the sweetest little soul—gentle, loving, and unbelievably brave. She is now safe, warm, and under our care… and she is officially up for adoption. ????

???? We streamed the rescue live — the full video is now available for anyone who would like to relive this incredible moment.

A huge thank you Auto Khaled, Beirut Municipality, and the Solidere team for their support, quick action, and collaboration — and to every person who reported, helped, and stayed with us until Lilies was safe.

Welcome to the world again, Lilies. You are loved.
