At two month of age, Eklerka was left at a vet clinic, paralyzed with a terrible wound on her jaw. Her destiny was to be put to sleep.
Eklerka's, then known as Minette, luck changed when one of our members saw her.
After having a detailed diagnosis of her case, Eklerka turned out to be paralyzed and incontinent which means she needed lots of care and obervation to remain healthy. Keeping an incontinent cat free from infections is a difficult task, but with the help of one of our fosters Eklerka made it to be a healthy cat free of discomfort.
The search for a home for her took a while, but it was worth the wait. We finally met Agatha from the US and learned of her wonderful garden for disabled cats. Cats with different kind of disabilities who have the best care and enriched environment that keep them busy and living the life of cat.
As soon as Eklerka arrived to the US, she had another full check up for her condition. Agatha wasted no time to get Eklerka used to living with her and made sure to build Eklerka a special wheelcart so she can enjoy the garden with her friends.
Minette's destiny have drastically changed but this wouldn't have been possible without the foster home who made sure to keep her healthy, the adopter who opened her house all the way from the US, and for all the people who helped get Eklerka to New York.
