Locked in an abandoned zoo. Starved. Doomed to die.
Today, six endangered baboons — Rambo, Jack, TomTom, Samar, Micha, and Mero — are finally getting the chance at life they have always deserved.
In 2018, Animals Lebanon discovered this baboon family in a collapsing, dilapidated zoo that was about to be shut down. They had nowhere to go, no advocates, and no future. When we stepped in to rescue them, we knew the road ahead would be difficult — but we could never have imagined how challenging it would be.
Finding proper placement for baboons is one of the greatest obstacles in wildlife rescue. Sanctuaries around the world are full, suitable space is scarce, and primate trafficking continues to rise, making placement opportunities nearly impossible.
Despite every setback, we refused to give up on them

Today, after years of effort, coordination, and searching, we finally have the opportunity to send them to a safe and permanent home. Thanks to our exceptional partners at Monkey World in the UK, led by Alison Cronin, these six baboons will soon live in newly built, species-appropriate outdoor and indoor enclosures — a sanctuary designed with their needs at heart. They will be the first of their species to be welcomed into this new space.
Over the coming two months, Rambo, Jack, TomTom, Samar, Micha, and Mero will be preparing for their journey to the UK. But we cannot make this rescue mission happen without your support.

- Your contribution today will directly support their travel, care, and safe transfer to sanctuary.
- Donate now to send these baboons to their new home.
- Or sponsor one of them and change their life forever.
Together, we can finally give them the future they were once denied.
